FAMILY HISTORY OF KOILPARAMPIL (COILPARAMPIL)
From the evidences collected so far it is believed that the Origin of the Koilparampil family is at Palayoor(Palayur) is a part of Thrissur district near chavacad and is located on the west coast of Kerala, in India. By road it is 28 km from Thrissur. At the time of the visit of St.Thomas, Several Brahmins and their associates were converted to Christianity. Among them were their priest (Poojari) and his followers, who lived at Ambala-parampil (Kovil-parampil) meaning the temple's land. The later generation came to be known by the names Kovil-parampil, Koilparampil, Koyi-parampil, Kozhi-parampil etc. (The usage's Koyi, Kozhi etc is a mistake committed by certain families and it is still followed by some of them).
